I am 68 years old. My father’s family moved from Montana to Arizona during WW2, so this is old information.
As far as I know, Durkee’s Dressing was for:
Turkey sandwiches*,
Bacon Lettuce and Tomato (BTL) sandwiches
Turkey sandwiches
Deviled eggs**
Turkey sandwiches
Fried Egg sandwiches
Turkey sandwiches
Potato salad***
Turkey sandwiches
*Yes, you need sturdy bread to accommodate cranberry, mashed potato/gravy and stuffing/dressing
** Recipe: Mashed yolks and Durkee’s. Optional: white pepper or a few grains of cayenne pepper. You can use black pepper if it is just family.
*** Mayonnaise + Durkee’s. I sprinkle the cut potatoes with cider vinegar and/or dill pickle juice, and included finely diced dill pickles so the ‘dressing’ does not need to be especially tart.

My Grandmother had this unique recipe of equal parts sweet pickles, peanuts, and peas with Durkee’s. She called it 3P salad. I know it sounds strange, but I’m telling you… it’s amazing!

More than 60 years ago, my grandfather created a summer side or appetizer that consisted of a round thick slice of a summer tomato (preferably a ripe Jersey Tomato), topped with a thin slice of sweet or purple onion, a spread of Durkees Famous Sauce, then a pile of crumbled bleu cheese, salt & pepper. Serve on a plate with knife and fork. Colorful and Amazing! I have made it as a side salad with the same ingredients in a bowl. Delicious. A must for summer tomato season. He wrote to them and they sent him a thank you note and a box of bottles. Legend.
In my family, using Durkees is the only way to make devilled eggs or egg salad, tuna salad, grilled swiss cheese and onion sandwich (another grandfather special), chicken or turkey salad, and post T-day sandwiches, etc.
